Measurement and reverse engineering

We measure products with a handheld optical scanner. We convert the measured meshes into a CAD model that can then be worked with, developed further or optimized.

scan → point cloud → CAD deviation ±0.02 mm

From scan to CAD model

Scan Mesh CAD model ±0.02 mm
  1. Optical scan

We measure the product with an optical scanner.

  2. Mesh

The scan produces a mesh that precisely describes the shape of the part.

  3. CAD model

We convert the mesh into a CAD model.

  4. Further work

You can develop, modify or optimize the model further.

Why did we expand our services to include measurement?

Measurement provides important information about production variability.

It can be a great help in analysis and in the search for the root cause of a problem, and of course in improving the product itself.

How measurement helps you

  • You find out how much parts differ from one another and where deviations occur.
  • You get the data needed to find the root cause of complaints and scrap.
  • You get a CAD model of a part that has no drawings.
  • You can keep improving and optimizing the product.
